Well it's just over a year since I last updated on my condition.
I last posted after having had a second option. Well to amazement and delight I have now had twenty months without needing treatment. The reason I'm amazed is after my first line chemo I was back in treatment in 7 months and I did not believe the carb platin had done much for me. I was concerned I was platinum resistant. I had a different combination of gem and carbo which seems to have had a much better effect. I think what this has proved is that different combinations can give very different results. I have made changes to lifestyle nothing too drastic just small things, many of them about reducing stresses in life.
I hope my post will give others hope that it is worth keeping going.

you've certainly made me feel a lot better this morning Wiganw. Thanks for your comments on my post and for sharing your encouraging news, love Kerry x
What brilliant news! Thanks so much for sharing your experience. It really is encouraging to think that a different combination can make such a difference. Sounds a good idea to reduce stress and enjoy life too.
Hi Sharon. It was really nice to meet you on the Target Ovarian Cancer day. It is so nice to actually meet the people face to face from this forum. I am really happy for you that the treatment has had such a positive result. Although I have been told I am platinum resistant I am hoping other combinations will work it the Caelyx doesnt.
Would you believe it but when I checked with The Christie on Monday there was no trace of me on the system. I checked with my doctor and low and behold she had forgotten to put my request through. It has finally been faxed through and I have heard from Professor Jayson's secretary she has passed this on to Professor Jayson who is in the process of allocating my an urgent slot (hopefully next week). I shall be having the next treatment on Wednesday plus Consultant's appointment and Bloods so hopefully will be able to fit this in with these appointments with the aid of some juggling maybe.
If you could advise me on some questions I should be asking I would be most grateful. I don't want to appear a dummy or anything but perhaps you have asked things I haven't.
Long may you stay well and I hope we will meet again.
That's wonderful news and very encouraging for ladies on here just starting second line. I just finished my second line 6 weeks ago and on Avastin maintenance presently.
Sending good wishes for a loooong remission for you!!
What fabulous news for all of us ladies and well done to you!
I have just completed gem/carbo (1st recurrence) and am on avastin for maintenance at the moment and hoping to be in remission! You have certainly given me and many others hope!.
It just proves that we are all individuals and all react differently to these treatments.
So good to read posts like this. I've just finished 2nd line and I'm hoping for a long remission. Managed 18 months last time and your experience certainly makes it possible.
Thank you to everyone for your good wishes. One thing I perhaps should of said is I did not have AVastin as I live in Wales and it was not offered to me when I asked about it. I was a bit slow at the time and did not know much about it, or I would of been across the border very quickly. But I've been lucky.
