Sorry to read that you must have surgery and are concerned about your dogs & that you are self employed.

Firstly, your health is important and the only thing I can suggest is : to call on friends and family to help with your house, and walking the dogs. Maybe a friend with space could take your dogs or someone who likes dogs could move in with you for a few weeks.

In relation to work -while initially you will not be able to work - as the days pass, you may be up to doing a little 'on-line work' from home - check if you can do this. Othewise, you will have to depend on the goodwill of friends & colleagues to help out.

But whatever you do, don't cancel or defer surgery - so sending you best wishes for a speedy recovery from your surgery

Daisies' advice is absolutely right. Prioritise your health, and you need to make time to recover from a hysterectomy. They suggest six weeks with no lifting or housework so it would be good to ask friends and relatives if they could help out. There's also a charity that provides volunteers to look after people's pets in your sort of circumstances. It's called The Cinnamon Trust: Tel 01736 757900. They may be able to help or give you some advice.

I remember seeing a Macmillan leaflet on Cancer and Self-Employment so it might be worth ringing their helpline. 0808 808 00 00. I haven't read it myself but generally I find their literature and their advice very informative and helpful.

This must've been a terrible shock. I hope you can get some help with the sickness and cyst very soon.

I just want to wish you well. You have a lot of worries but your main priority at this stage has to be your health. Do as Annie suggests and contact Macmillan etc. Hope you don't have tyo was it too long for your surgery. Ann xo
