Hi, Sandra had this 2011 3rd line. I have to say from all the chemo,s she coped with this the best. Usual sickness and fatigue and usual feeling unwell. Some do experience skin sores and mouth sores but she did,nt. Her CA125 did drop from the start and her disease did shrink considerably. Some say that Caelyx is slow to start and this seems to be the case when taken as a single agent but when combined with carboplatin then providing your platinum sensitive then you should get good results early on. Thank you so much Paul. That has given me a lot of comfort. I have had no problem with Carboplatin its just that Caelyx seems to have some mixed results. Love Beth x

Hi Beth, Of course everyone is different, but Angie had a pretty good response to Caelyx alone when Carboplatin showed only a mixed response. She tolerated it very well too and despite our initial anxiety we are both so pleased she went with her oncologist's recommendation. Best wishes to you.

Just started same combination. Only first session will keep you informed. Third line treatment also. So far so good. Scarlet x

Hi Beth I did not really get on with that combo ( everyone different I guess) but the efficacy is what matters and after 3 rounds I found out this week that all diffuse deposits of cancer in the peritoneum have disappeared - so will put up with side effects ! To answer your question directly, side efects were exhaustion, indigestion with sickness . The doctors will keep a close eye on your white platelet count as Caelyx has a reputation for being a' so and so' for dropping the white cell count right down so make sure you monitor your temperature on a regular basis .

Good luck with your treatment and big hugs

Xxx
