It's now been 7 months since TAH, after a few months I noticed my back would ache doing simple things like bending over bath or bending for a few minutes, now it's getting more painful, is this normal, also I feel as if my lower back has sunk in slightly at the base, is this all normal?

Lower back pain.
Sorry you are having pain ....but I would say it is still quite early days .... it does take a while to feel "normal" (if you ever do) but it would be wise to get it checked.
better to be safe than sorry love x G
Thank you Gywn, I have my check up in April so will ask then, don't like to bother doctor with something minor, just wondered if other people had experienced the same.
I found mine the same, and, although it's much better now, it never went back to how it had been before my op, sorry to say! However, I have found that gentle walking helps to ease the ache and I now do tai chi classes a couple of times a week, which have made it better than previously. It's bearable, doesn't stop me getting on with anything I want to do, so I live with it. It definitely got better as time went by. You are in the early stages of your recovery. Pilates classes are supposed to be good at building core muscles after they've been cut through, they're the ones that balance out the lower back and help to rebuild strength. I went to an osteopath too, but he didn't do much lasting good, apart from the immediate after-effects of the massage. That was really relaxing and eased the pain quite a bit. The advice about asking your CNS and doctor from Gwyn and Millie is the best place to start though. You'll need to check about core strengthening exercises.....walking should be OK though, if it's comfortable for you.
All the best
Love Wendy xx
