OVARIAN CARCINOSARCOMA - VERY RARE OVARIAN CANCER

Hello,
This is a really interesting post I would love to know more as my Mum has been given a finite of time to live by the dr and she has already outlived their prognosis. She has had chemo (avastin, carboplatin and taxol) and is now being offered surgery which is is thinking of declining. Would you have surgery given the option? - bearing in mind she only has 1 ovary left to remove due to previous hysterectomy years ago..
Em
Dear Em,
I don't know where you live but the lady that posted this is in America
(I think) although if treatment is the same there as it is here ...this shouldn't make much difference to the result xx
I am 75 yrs old and was diag. With ovarian carcinosarcoma 5yrs ago. I had debulking surgery that removed all my gyn organs and omentum, part of my colon. I then had chemo
Taxol, carbo and Gemzar. I had 2 sessions within a yr. I have been in remission ever since. From what I know every Dr treats this disease in their way. Ask questions and know the risks.
I can give you my story, and hope it helps you to have hope, and make decisions for your experience.
