New site issues - feedback from HealthUnlocked

Hi Everyone,

I thought I would write a post to clarify a few issues that are being brought up with regard to the platform’s upgrade.

First, we’re glad you’re here. I know it was a pretty frustrating experience for some of you to get back into the platform at the re-launch. We’re really sorry about that.

Some of the headlines-

What happened to notification emails?

When we launched there were, as many of you know, a number of technical hiccups. To better control the situation we temporarily disabled notifications. We did this to limit the amount of traffic to the site (we send over 1 million emails a month) in an effort to limit the number of people who might run into the bugs. These notifications will be turned on again next week (the week starting Jul 15).

Why was I having problems logging in?

We tested the system across all browsers including iPad/mobile before we launched but sometimes you can’t replicate real life, and login was unfortunately what suffered the most in this. Most of the early login problems are now fixed, but a few people may still be being logged out when they are browsing. We’ll have that straightened out soon.

Where’s my badge!? Why are my photos psychedelic/upside down? etc

Almost all of these type of issues we are aware of and on our list of fixes over the coming few days. We have had to prioritise the most urgent ones first. You can go to support.healthunlocked.com or email support@healthunlocked.com to help identify any you think we might have missed.

Where are my blogs?

As most of you have noticed ‘blogs’ have been renamed to ‘posts’. However, all the same content is still there. A lot of users told us they were daunted by the idea of blogging when they first joined the site so ‘posts’ are aimed to make it easier and more welcoming.

Some information on the bigger bugs

Can’t login with username / email - fixed

Links in activity feeds lead to an error page - fixed

Usability issues with internet explorer 10 - fixed

Links from public profile lead to an error page - fixed

Changing password from account page not working - fixed

Changing password from the ‘forgot password’ link on the login page - in process - it usually changes the password, but might tell you it didn’t.

Finally, thanks for still being here and having the faith in us to get things back on the rails.

Best wishes,

Matt

Please can you put the replies where they should be, directly underneath. Can the comments be in order of when they were posted also. Thank you and I know you are trying really hard but it is what we are used to. I am grovelling now haha.

Absolutely no need for grovelling! I think the comments/replies issue is on our list. Thanks Roley

Can you tell me why I seem to be the only poster with Reply to this and Delete at the bottom

Dear Matt

Thanks for this feedback. I really appreciate all you're doing to make the site better and to fix all the glitches. I like many of the new features - particularly the posting guidelines above this post and I like the 'recommend' but would feel less uneasy if I could hover over it to find out who has recommended so we keep everything transparent. xxx

best wishes.

Thanks Whippit just saw this - we'll look into it. I know identifying the recommends was discussed in the development and some form of that will evolve in future.

Hi Matt, can you help please? Im unable to view members posts or even my own via my profile page, so if someone responds I can't see as it says 'hidden' and 'visible to members only'. I posted a question and no one could view it. Any idea ?

Cheers Alison

Same for me, so i suspect everyone, Aliannie. I sent an email to health unlocked regarding this but no reply as yet. :-(

Hi alianne - this was flagged up by another member so we're looking into it. Can you just double check you are logged in as some of the confusion has arisen from some people still occasionally being logged out (which is our number one glitch to eradicate!)

Hi Matt. I wondered if it might be a log in problem when i first discovered it but i even logged out and in again to check and its still the same. I can see SOME posts but these are the ones that were 'public' on the old site i think? I definitely can't see any 'members only' posts. :-(

Hi, sorry to be a pain, I'm still unable to view posts, I've loggeg out and logged in again, and still posts are hidden and for members only!

It seems as if my membership isn't being recognised. Going to my own profile page and clicking 'my posts' they are even coming up as 'hidden' .

Thanks again

in reply toaliannie

I still have the same problem, I can't read old posts, as they come up in black and white and hidden :-(
