Swollen lymph node in neck

Sandra has now come across hard lymph gland in neck. Only come in the last week. Due CT scan today and finish 3rd cycle of gem/carb tomorrow. Any ideas why she should be getting this when treatment appears to be working according to CA125. likewise lump in groin became noticable 2 weeks ago. Love Paul xx

Maybe I should rephrase the question..... enlarged lymph nodes in regions of the groin, neck and heart (paracardiac). Should I be worried?? Love Paul xx

Sorry to hear about Sandras lymph nodes. My first thought was maybe her body fighting infection but add you are at hospital tomorrow I am sure your doctor will have an idea about it. I am at Christies tomorrow morning to see Dr Welch if you're there.

No clinic today, bloods at 11am, treatment due 1pm but prob not get upstairs before 2pm. What time you there x

Ok I thought you meant tomorrow bring Friday. I'm there then at 10 which is ashame as I would have come and said hello. Maybe you can ask to see a doctor anyway when you go for chemo. My last one is due on Monday if blood ok. So looking forward to finishing now. I hope all goes well for Sandra today

Please try not to worry. Worry achieves nothing and, hard as it is, it won't help Sandra. Obviously ask at the clinic. They can quite easily organise a biopsy. If the CT included the chest it might catch it.

Lymph nodes enlarge for all sorts of reasons. It could be something simple and benign, I know the mind catastrophizes at a time like this. I have read of many women who have had swollen neck lymph nodes on Inspire that have returned to normal post treatment. Pre surgery I had a couple of lymph nodes that were swollen but proved to be benign, possibly reacting to a couple of nodes lower down the chain within the tumour that were cancerous.
