Easter Time

Hi Ladies, I just want to wish you all a very Happy Easter with lots of chocolates to eat where possible. Where am I now or more like it what have I been up to? So I was able to participate in the drafting of a new set of Guidelines for the diagnosis of Ovarian Cancer with the National Cancer Control Programme, The guidelines are gone for review and any recommendations will be considered towards the end of May. For me it was an enlightening experience working with Consultants to help improve the diagnostics of OC. I consider it a privilege to have been able to participate with another Ovacare member. I am grateful I was well enough to attend all meetings. I also attended a Public and Patient Initiative meeting at the Mater Hospital in Dublin. This ppi group is connected to Irish College of Gynae Oncologists. The meetings are held four times a year and they are open to anyone with a gynae cancer diagnosis here in Ireland. The group is researching ways of helping patients have a better experience when attending your gynae oncologist and is also open to family members or partners. Do keep an eye on the facebook page of Isogppi or the Icorg website. Healthwise, I am still stable but have ct scan booked for June with an apt with Oncologist for a week or so later. So hoping all of you are as well as can be and wishing you all a peaceful Easter.

Hi Joan

Tomorrow is day 14 of 28. Beginning to feel the effects but it’s not so bad. It’s all very fast and efficient so I’m usually home long before midday. I need to put up a post soon to find out if other women have had experience of Arimidex which will be the next step for me.
