Scans etc

When I was first diagnosed last May with Ppc my oncologist said that I would have 6 monthly scans

Now, however he has said that I won't have any further scans unless I have pain or ca 125 markers go up considerably.

Is this standard follow up treatment now ?

I'm on avastin at present

Thanks  x

Hi Chamber,  it is hard to know the reasoning behind this.  Here in Ireland it depends on the Oncologist.   I do know that they have cut the scan because they feel too many scans and bloods cause more stress than its worth,  I imagine you are back every so often for check ups and they go on clinical evaluation .  You can also contact the gynae liason nurse if you are worried in between appointments

After surgery my surgeon told me that the c word wouldn't get there. So I am assuming it hadn't spread. I finished chemo in December and now on avastin.   oncologist has booked me in for scan this Thursday. Xx my c125 had gone up to fifty, if you read my posts you will see it started out at 2,700. Hope this helps x
