Read the IT article today and congratulations to the 2 J's - Joan & June - for so clearly & honestly sharing their stories.
Just looking up the article on Sinead - what strange sports we play in Ireland - but it was a great opportunity for her to raise awareness also.
What wonderful women you all are - so inspirational.

Brilliant coverage from Limerick Leader and Irish Times, hopefully these publications will reach out to women and encourage them to see their family doctor if they have any of the symptoms mentioned. That I would be happy with.
Well done Joan, lovely photo too!
Thanks Marymarcy the article did get great reaction back to the journalist although I did have to correct her before it was published. Hope all is as good as it can be for your Mum. I also hope you are looking after yourself
Thanks Joan. Mam had to stop the Avastin and cyclophosphamide in March, she was worn out. Unfortunately it was only just holding things in check so the cancer has progressed. She was offered Trabectedin, tho not a high chance of it helping she has decided to try it, had her first session monday. She just wasnt ready to stop trying and would have wondered if she didnt try it, i'd have been happy for her to stop. She can do very little but is mostly comfortable and can eat and sleeo pretty well and is in good spirits. So just taking things a day at a time, seems ok post chemo.
Well she has some spirit and that is a good thing. I have never heard of it but obviously has very little side effects so far. You never know the doctors dont know themselves to be honest. I will say a prayer that this might be just what will work for her.
They really don't know do they, sometimes i feel sorry for them and the nurses, it seems like just throwing mud and hoping some of it sticks, which must be frustrating - I'm sure in practice it's less random than that but still!! The prayer and kind words are much appreciated. Glad things going ok for you and hope you are settling in to your new routine and not missing work too much!
Well done Joan, June and Sinéad for raising awareness, sharing your stories and showing that women with ovarian cancer live very rich and fulfilling lives. Stone throwing sounds like great fun! Miriam
Thanks I did the make up really well that morning and the photo used was the last one taken. The UCC Cancer Society shared it on Facebook because they recognised my name from the Choir. So hopefully people will go and see their gp as a result of this article and be referred on if needs be. My gp agrees that OC needs more awareness when I saw him yesterday. As a reward he is sending me for another test, I told him I might as well bring my bed into the South. I rang Eileen yesterday and she said she didnt think it was anything to worry about.
