Strontium Citrate

I started slow by adding Strontium Citrate ½ dose (340 micro grams) in the evening and moved all calcium to mornings.

I suspect it caused violent vomiting. Is this possible or a coinsidence?

Reluctant to try again 😬

Oh no, sorry to hear. I’ve never taken it so not sure but you do want to spread out your calcium as your body can only absorb 500 mg at a time. Also be careful with the strontium because apparently it is heavier than calcium and will give you a false reading on your DEXA scan and replaces calcium, but I’ve also heard from some articles that it’s good to take so not sure. But make sure you let tech know although some I guess don’t have the machine calibration to take it into affect so you get a false low (good) score. Just read up on it.

Thanks! I will bring your point up about taking 500mg Calcium at a time. I see the bone specialist in a couple of weeks. Currently, I am tolerating 1/2 dose strontium and preparing to add the other half. Spreading calcium dosing out across the day is unrealistic with my schedule. I will research Stontium and DEXA. I can also visit with my licensing association, since it has been quite a while since performing DEXAs. Medicine is constantly changing, good news for all of us. Thanks for the heads up and and more avenues to pursue.

I'm working with a functional medicine dr/pharmacist. He has me talking super cal plus by Nutritional Frontiers and magnesium complex at night. Super. Cal has, vitamin d3,k2,calcium, boron magnesium and copper. The calcium is microcrystaline calcium hydroxyapaltite .That form goes to the bone. Some forms of calcium clog the arteries. Thanks for your information. I will definitely ask about your information. Good luck

hi I personally don’t believe strontium citrate should be started on an empty stomach , just keep it away from calcium . You can read about that in algaecal
