I have found Sarah Purcell to be very knowledgeable. Sarah is a volunteer moderator providing exercise guidance with the National Osteoporosis Foundation. Many senior centers and community centers across the country offer the RSVP Bones Builders program. Bone Builders is taught by Lay Leaders and features balance exercises and weight/resistance training using [light] weights.
Look for an exercise program taught by someone who understands and has some training about osteoporosis-safe exercise. Ask a potential reacher what he/she knows.
