Hi, I was diagnosed GORD 7 years ago. Was on Omeprazole but was getting reflux 3-4 times a week, now on pantoprazole 80mg a day and only suffer 1-2 reflux a week. Question; when opening bowels is it usual for reflux of stomach gas. This happens to me and makes me cough and retch, I just don’t understand how muscles opening in one end can affect the other end. Any answers please. Kevin

I experienced a similar problem. My doc suggested Zemaflux which strengthens the LES muscles and can limit reflux of gas or stomach acid. This has improved the situation for me so may be worth trying.
