I’m writing this post because I’m feeling so depressed and fed up with this condition. I’m years old, and otherwise healthy.
I’m no longer responding to medication, PPI’s or H2 blockers, eat an extremely restricting diet and take various supplements (enzymes, slippery elm) but this god awful reflux never goes away - it’s completely ruining my life and I’m just at a loss with what to do next.
I’ve started to receive acupuncture, but at this point I’ve tried so many things I’m reluctant to be hopeful.
Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated as normal!

So sorry you are still suffering, I think that I have replied to you before ,since January I started getting lpr symptoms, post natal drip ,mucus throat ,in the beginning I was also having ear discomfort symptoms too. I feel it has shifted symptoms since January but like you,my symptoms haven't totally disappeared. I came off ppi's as they made the throat reflux worse. Have you considered the IQoro? The thing is with a hernia the problem needs to be addressed and not masked with medication. I do believe that using it has helped strengthen the inner muscles of oesophagus, not to the extent that I am totally cured but I am persevering with it and believe gradually it is working but it isn't an overnight cure ,I am eight months in now and I know certain foods will still flare up the symptoms. It is a depressing thing to have especially as you are so young but it is worth thinking about x
Like you, I have all of the IPR symptoms. I found one change which has helped quite a lot. I drink decaf coffee at breakfast and the one change that I made was to make it using the cold drip method. So instead of brewing it in a coffee maker in the morning, I make a pitcher of it using the cold drip method and store it in refrigerator. Then I pour a cup in the morning and microwave it to warm it. It has practically eliminated all of the coughing I was doing every morning. This method removes most of the acid from the coffee. You can get necessary brewing materials on Amazon and read peoples reviews.
Thank you for the kind response, I’ve come off PPI’s, and have moved to famotadine which I hope to also stop taking. I find it hard to not let it get to me, I work in the hospitality industry and used to love eating out with my partner and family and enjoy wine etc. I still have some hope that I’ll be able to live that life again.
I too invested in the iqoro and have been using it for nearly four months but haven’t seen much improvement yet.
Hi, I had ą fundoplication surgery, It helped a little but still I take famotidin and gaviscon . With time I was tired of the strict diet- that didn’t help eather. I suffer especially at night and awaken taking Ezox
