Hello everyone, New here and I have a few questions regarding this as I have no one to ask or gain support from.
This might be long, but i know it would give the reader an insight.
So three weeks ago, I had a bad breakdown that caused my nose to be clogged and my throat to tighten up, the following day, I tried to eat but somehow, I found myself having trouble swallowing that i feel like choking, and that my throat and mouth just go dry everytime I try to eat dry foods.
Two weeks ago, my mom got back and we jumped from places to places to catch up on the things she missed, it got me super tired and I found myself skipping meals to just sleep.
And last Monday, I finally had a chance to go to the doctors, and i was prescribe with pantec dsr 40 mg before breakfast and omepron 40 mg before dinner, and i was given some stuff I should avoid eating to lessen the triggers, and now, im worried because I didn't know where to start in terms of what to eat.
Now, my questions are.
1. Did I got the bad case of gerd because of the mg I was given?
2. Did I got this from the constant pressure, stress and anxiety?
3. Is it okay to take gaviscon after eating despite having those medications?
4. Am I gonna be okay? I am new to this experience and it really scares me.
Thank you, and I hope to hear positivity.

Hi so sorry you're struggling. Stress and anxiety is a huge trigger for acid reflux it was one of the main triggers for me and I have found some ways to manage it successfully which I'll get to. It's important to state that everyone's triggers are completely individual but some of the usual food triggers are tomatoes, onions, spicy foods or fatty foods and alcohol. There may also be some food intolerances such as dairy or gluten which you aren't aware of.Another cause of reflux is h.pylori which a bacteria that can build up in the gut. Your doctor should have tested you for this before issuing you medication as you would need antibiotics to treat that. I would suggest going back to your doctor and asking for this test.
So to answer your questions yes stress is a huge trigger I manage mine using breathing techniques, meditation and mindfulness and making sure I exercise and look after myself. These things can just a 10 mins meditation so doesn't need to take ages to do.
Yes you can take gaviscon after each meal and before bed and use it long too. It won't interact with your medication.
And lastly you will be fine. The most important thing is to address the root cause rather than manage symptoms. Sounds like you're under a lot of stress so I would try and manage this first and see how you get on. Good luck!
Right now, I'm doing great, I can now eat well and I can pretty much give you an update that my prescription is working great with no side effects.
He asked me a few question about how i feel, and what i said to him is that my throat feels super weird like its burning, so i was diagnosed with LPR.
Thank you for taking your time to reply to me worries, and yes I am under a lot of stress so i'll try to learn a few breathing techniques and finally learn to meditate.
