Good morning everyone does anyone experience dry cough with there acid reflux that the cough is uncontrollable but feeling pain in your throat I guess do to coughing and also does it comes with dizziness I be having three episodes back to back can someone assure me on this plz

Good morning I too been having very dry coughs I feel like something is in my throat all the time I try to cough it up but nothing comes up except clear mucus I been getting dizzy to but I think it's from coughing so hard

dry cough with acid reflux is common symptom.

Assuming you do not have blood in your cough or in your stools/urine.

The upper Oesophagus including the throat mouth is not intended to tolerate the stomach acid. if throat is exposed to acid reflux then you will get dry cough. Try to drink cold milk, cold water etc to soother the throat. and Gaviscon advance.

A lot of acid relfux advice also offered on opa.org.uk OPA charity website. Please see and compare your lfiestyle, diet etc with the advice. this can help you reduce the triggers.

Dizziness is perhaps due to excessive hard coughing. it has a clinical term but I wont use it here. Try not to cough very hard and use throat soothing remedies to subside the coughing. Best would be to manage your acid reflux totally at the root cause. Remember your lax sphinchter or weak wrap at the GE junction si the root cause anatomically and perhaps exaggerated by your lifestyle, mental health etc.

Excessive coughing: Assuming you dont have yellow or dark coloured phelgm when coughing, fever, chills, difficulty breathing, wheezing. if some of these symptoms occur simultaneously then please reach out to your primary care immediately.

Key is to learn to distinguigh yourself the development of chest infection from the regular acid reflux effected symptoms, against the developing chest infections (due to reflux or otherwise)

Yes, cough is problematic with reflux. Also the feeling of a lump. Normal but irritating.
