Morning! My little one is 5 months and is on sma comfort , he was cleaning his bottles so I upped his ounces, he’s now on 8 ounces and still cleaning most of his bottles. My issue is the last 2 weeks he’s only really doing a poo once a week now and I assumed he’d be going more when taking more ounces. Can I start him on purées before 6 months so that he’s taking less milk and he’s able to poo more frequently?

We recommend starting weaning at 26 weeks/6 months but not before unless recommended by a Dietician or similar Health Professional.
I think if baby is only passing a stool once a week on average, you need to look into this a bit more and I would suggest speaking with a pharmacist or GP.
Weaning can and does change their toileting patterns, but I would want his bowel habits checked before he starts on any solids.
Thank you for your reply. I was going off some advice from other people that told me to start him on purées.
I had planned to speak to a gp before hand just to check that everything was ok with his bowels before I started him on anything else. I just wanted another opinion.
