i had a c section 4weeks ago and I have been getting pain everytime I pee in my bladder. So everytime I go for pee I feel like I'm cramping within my uterus and just feels very uncomfortable! Is this normal? Also would love any advice on recovery after a c section is there anything that others found helpful that you don't normally get told ?

Hi congratulations.

I've had two c sections the first was hard to recover as you don't really know what to expect. I had this for a week of so mine was a urine infection but I suffer from them normally, As you are 4 weeks in I would suggest getting it checked by a doctor it may be nothing as your body is still healing.

Let me know how you get on.

Glad you got a sample done, Arrr thank you. Yeah all recovered thank you just need to lose the belly as in this weather gets a bit hot and sweaty on the scar. Mine kids are 4 yrs old and 16months now. Also agreed with Rachel rest and fluids. I am not good at relaxing so I used to run round the house cleaning while my baby slept. Then I'd rest for a little. Second time was harder for resting as having a toddler. Enjoy your little one they grow up so quick xx

Hello Firstbabyhelp , Congratulations on your baby.

I would suggest speaking to the GP/Practice Nurse. It is important to rule out any potential urine infection as mentioned by Babypigeon .

Make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids to keep your bladder working well and eating well will aid recovery.

Above all, do not forget you have had major surgery and need to ensure you rest (as much as you can with a new baby)!

Best Wishes,

Rachel

So glad you were able to get a sample done. Once you hear back, you will know if you need to get some antibiotics and if not, see how you go and you can always mention it to a GP if it continues. It is so hard to know what to expect when you've had a section!

Best Wishes, Rachel
