Tip Thursday - keeping kids entertained

I think everyone’s going to need ideas for children of all ages of things to do...

Does anyone have tips for places to take children, when they’re able to enjoy the outdoors safely?

Things to do in the garden, for fresh air?

Things to do in the home?

Ways to make education fun?

Also think of us parents too, how you have look after yourself, your wellbeing and how you stay connected?

I know this is going to be a tricky time, so ways we can help each other will be useful

Great idea!

Our grandsons, 6 and 8, have been isolating since Monday as Mummy has symptoms of the virus. So we’re a bit further ahead with activity planning!

Granny and Grandad are FaceTiming at 3.30 every afternoon with a quiz for the boys. At the moment, Mum and Dad join in too but the plan is this will give them half an hour to do some other jobs away from the children.

It also helps us maintain contact, be useful and feel less isolated!

Looking forwards to reading other ideas and tips!

I love this. I think today was the first day the novelty of physically distancing has worn off. I might also schedule in a Facetime. I might see if my cousin's kids want to do it and so it's win win. We all get a break from each another!!

One of mine does cubs and they have ideas of things to do on there website, which anyone can access.

I asked mine what their fave part of today was and it was throwing a tennis ball around between us and if you drop it you, either lose a eye, a leg, or an eye, and you lose 1 thing each time you dropped it,they were hopping about trying to catch a ball with 1 eye open etc, and it was escapism as they know this is strange times.

Also, for schoolwork I got a free code off someone on FaceBook, its available to anyone-you can google it, for a website called Twinkl, I printed a few bit off there, worksheet's and wordsearch's.
