sorry another bowel question. On wednesday I had a colonoscopy and since then I have had diarrohea - its really getting me down. Has anyone else had this happen after a colonoscopy?...the colonoscopy nurse just rang but because of the surgery she is not sure if it makes any difference.

Hi Bernadette,

From experience, this has happened to me after recent keyhole surgery to my stomach, four years post oesophagectomy, it was explained to me that sometimes the bowels can react to any sort of interference in this way but will normally settle down again in time, which it did after a week or so.

Hope this has helped.

thanks Dave, I did take some stuff my GP gave me as I was feeling so weak and fed up, I only needed one sachet (fingers crossed) and it worked. At least can leave the house now. I think these things can upset the system.
