I am 13 years post surgery and I still get occasional sore throats. This usually happens if I get reflux and that then irritates my throat. I try not to eat or drink beyond 7pm most of the time, and have my mattress propped up. Maybe if you have a sore throat all the time it might be worth asking your gp or specialist nurse if you are in the UK.

I am similar - my team suggested regularly taking gaviscon ( on prescription it’s free) before going to bed as this provides a lining to the system somehow. That may help good luck with it

5 years on I still get sore/dry throats a lot. I think it's just part of post op life and suck a lot of sugar free boiled sweets. I' sure it is reflux related and have started using games on at night. The pharmacist said it shouldn't be necessary with lanzoprazol but I know others on this site use both

Thrush can be a problem on site of surgery. Gargle with tepid salty water. Eat yogurt that is natural- no sweeteners. Cut out sugary food.
