I’m a year and 1 month post Ivor Lewis and been incredibly well . A month ago I started vomiting occasionally and now I have a persistent cough and a blocked feeling on the left side of my throat. I can still eat but as soon as I start a meal or a drink I get a coughing fit. I am also sick either from the coughing or if I’ve eaten too much .
my next check up is in November, anyone experienced similar ?

Hi..consonant your 12 months goes so fast doesn’t it ..I’ve not experienced the vomiting..but we are all different,my meals 2 years later are still small and feel full in the throat and chest quickly so can’t eat too much ,maybe different feelings from food..I did have the cough for what seemed an eternity,..it did stop but then got covid which knocked me about for a week and the cough returned, and couldn’t shake it off for a good 6 months ..it was very worrying at the time as I thought the C,had returned..but whoever, after tests and a chest X-ray it showed all clear..but long lasting affects of covid ..only saying as the only explanation I can think of..have you had covid or just after affects of the Op you think..
Yes, I had similar right up to about two years post.I dont balme you for worrying about it being cancer return. All strange feelings make a person think that way post diagnosis.
My surgeon and oncologist were very good to answer all questions and to check things out when I was struggling. If in doubt or worrying you should get things reviewed.
The coughing, sliming, vomiting etc - basically all the fun stuff is a version of normal but never hurts to ask.
Best of luck.
I am 4 years post and things do settle down but still a new normal.
