Hi I am 11 years on and had pain there that was persistent. I got referred to the pain clinic as nerve damage was suspected from the op. I had some nerves microwaved which helped quite a lot now I just get a muscular pain if I am doing things that use the shoulder and torso muscles a lot, chopping wood, polishing gardening, sitting in an office chair at the computer for long periods or lots of housework. I find a heat pad and painkillers to relax helps to make sure it goes away completely and doesn't stay screwed up to come back the next day. If I know I'm going to do something that will bring it on I take paracetamol to prevent it getting as screwed up. Someone putting pressure on my scar in my back helps too. It's got less and less over the years as I've got stronger and stronger. A physio friend did help with some stretching exercises for the scar tissue maybe you could self refer to a physio I can't find the list she gave me sorry. Take care
I'm 2 years post and also get pain from time to time. Physio helps as does rubbing muscle soreness type gels/creams. I'm sure its nothing too major to worry about but if it persists I'd touch base with your doc to be safe.
Hi there,Yes 5 years on still got pain there. Some days worse when doing too much. Also get referred pain where nerve endings have linked up wrong. So if I overeat the pain in in that scar also if I drink or eat too hot ,too cold , feel sensation in my scar.My surgeon said it happens in a few cases.
Best wishes
Debbie
