LDR Gerd, am I am a Coronavirus risk?

I’ve had mucus with the need to garble it out for 15 years I believe it’s LPR Gerd, as I’ve had trouble breathing from it and I’m currently taking 160mg of Nexium per day so I can breath normally. I’ve had an endoscopy and the doctor said he saw mild inflammation but I should take it again because I was on the PPI’s at that point. I went to a new Dr. and i’m scheduled for a CT scan but I’ve pushed it off and now I can’t go because of the coronavirus. Anybody have experience with this kind of illness? And am I a high risk individual because of this?

I have knowledge of this. I believe that there is an operation that can fix the loose lower valve therefore usually no treatment afterwards is usually needed. However they tend to reserve it for cases that don't respond well to medication or if a very loose valve. If you Google the nhs hospitals that specialise in LPR you might find one near I your area.

As I understand it this would not however put you in a high risk category regarding the virus. A full list of these high risk categories can be found on the official .gov website. Sorry I don't have the exact address but I'm sure Google has ha! Just put coronovirus and high risk categories or groups and .gov.

Keep safe!

first, a mucus over secretion indicates inflammation. generally LPR are refractory to PPI. the PPI which suppresses stomach acid reduces gut immunity thus susceptible to GI infection.

Do they increase the risk of COVID-19 infection? highly unlikely.

dont be alarmed! we all have coronavirus but it is a secret I reckon!

Anyway dont go to often to endoscopy because you can catch a strong type of corona and it is the end!
