Throat problems for 2 months

Since late May I have felt I have been overproducing mucus and I have had a need to swallow a lot more than usual. I then over time developed a slightly irritated throat which will come and go occasionally. In the early period of this I noticed my phlegm was orange in colour and found it odd. The throat feels okay some days and others not, I have only had the need to cough a couple of times, so I wouldn't say it is accompanied by a cough. This morning I had some phlegm to get rid of (to put it crudely) and produced about 3/4 of a teaspoon worth, with a bit of red blood in it.

I have also had a weird vibrating-like feeling on my right upper rib area, vibrates lightly on and off throughout the day, but this sensation does not hurt, it is just note-worthy.

I haven't lost my appetite or weight but I am thinking about it all day in my head and it is causing my summer to not be as I hoped.

I have tried all throat and decongestant medicines and they work in the short term but in the long term not so much.

I have seen a GP who conducted a physical exam and stated that I seemed okay, but to note back if anything worsened, which I will. Any suggestions in the meanwhile will be appreciated.

I presume this is after the Ivor Lewis op ?

If you are not sleeping on a 'wedge' to raise your body up at night it may be stomach acid, I also have days when I find I over produce mucus and have accepted it as par for the course after the op.

No idea about the vibrations.

Have you had an oesophagectomy or gastrectomy? Did you have chemotherapy? If so, then overproducing mucus is, I believe, a not uncommon side effect. I suffered from it, and still do to some extent. I don't know what causes it, possibly irritation of the mucus membrane, or possibly acid reflux. I was advised to go dairy free for a while, which I did for about a year, and it certainly helped.
