It's part hiccup, part burp but whatever it is, it's only been happening since my surgery in May. I know it's a small price to pay, but my question to those of you who are several years on... Did you have them and does it pass or is it just something I'm doing wrong or will just have to accept as my new life?

Hi, well I am 8 years post op and it still happens to me, and without warning. I can be mid sentence and it happens. Among friends it's OK as they understand, but can be embarrassing when speaking to strangers. I find cold air often makes it happen.

But a small price to pay 😊

Regards

Edwina

After 4 years I get this funny half burp too.

Lots of changes when œsophagus disappears along with the vagus nerve. Nothing to worry about I would think good luck with recovery

Hi yes I got it a lot in early days. Occasionally get it now. I did have a spell of smelly burps which were embarrassing i had tests but nothing came back. I am now on priobotics and sucralfate that has got rid of it.

Best Wishes

Debbie
