Oesophageal treatments worry.

Today we got my wife dorothy home from a stay in hospital. She has been coughing blood clots in sputum but small amounts only then at 4am last thursday 1st june coughed huge blood clot into her hand. We both never seen anything like this.

Ambulance was called went to A&E.

She was on anti biotics for a chest infection.

But however this turned out to be pnumonia. On stronger antibiotic since hospital visit. She has been offered radiotherapy or another stent for cancer treatment.

How can you decide whats best if the radiation will effect her quality of life making her worse than she is currently.

But slowing cancer growth with it.

She has c.o.p.d and heart failure ect Oncologist is more worried about her breathing than the cancer she has.

She has signed for the radiology .

Hard to know what to do!!!

I am sorry to hear about Dorothy's situation and wish you both all the best.

It is fairly common for patients to have more than one illness to cope with, and the doctors are fairly experienced at working out priorities. She will need the best strength and fitness she can manage to cope with the cancer treatment.
