I’ve been put up to 45mg from 30mg Mirtazapine for my severe anxiety and depression. Has it worked for intrusive thoughts?

I suffer from severe anxiety and depression and wondered if anyone has had it for their intrusive thoughts also? Did it help?

Hi there my Dr. has just increased my dose from 15 to 30mg of Mirtazapine, I'm hoping it will improve my anxiety levels, how are feeling so far on the 45mg dose?

At the moment I am still feeling the same, it’s only the 2nd day though. I am hoping for my symptoms to start to get better within a couple of weeks, fingers crossed! I defiantly feel more tired on these but I guess my body is still getting used to them 🙂

It's not a medication I've had experience of but most of these antidepressants are similar. I've found that sertraline, the one that I'm on, really does damp down the intrusive thoughts and makes them easier to manage.

It does take a while for them to kick in, but I'm not sure about how long the increased dose takes to work.

In any case, lifting the depression in itself should help in making you feel stronger and better able to use CBT for the intrusive thoughts.
