Hello everyone. As the title suggests, Ocd has ruined my life... Am sure most of you on here have experienced some form of OCD and can agree you wouldnt wish it upon your worst enemy...
My form of OCD is extremely weird in my eyes. Basically my compulsions and rituals revolve around my phone and i hate having my call log on my phone not cleared, my messages not cleared, to many browser tabs on the internet section, my whatsapp call log/messages being cleared. My spotify search not being cleared etc. This causes me great distress as if i dont clear them all i get thoughts through the day giving me the urge to do so. Can anyone offer me any advice or words of encouragement? I hope i see light at the end of the tunnel and for anyone else reading this just remember we will beat this one day! Dont give up!

I don't think that the form your OCD takes is any weirder than any other. They all appear a bit weird to non-OCD sufferers!
Perhaps CBT, or cognitive behavioural therapy could be of help to you, if you haven't already had it. It teaches you to think differently about the OCD and the feelings it induces. It's partly about learning to tolerate the distress that not following the OCD compulsion causes, and recognizing that if you can do that, the distress subsides. Then it stops being triggered.
In some ways, the form your OCD takes is a sort of cleansing ritual. Some people order their rooms and living spaces. Not so very different to ordering your phone! All forms of OCD do respond to CBT.
