Masatabation

Hi

having a difficult time at the moment with ocd thoughts. The main one is when I was 12,13 and finding mastabation. The thing that is causing me lots of anxiety is the thought of family members, e.g aunties and cousins. Also mastabation over a man.

Does anybody else struggle with this time of ocd.

Stop feeling so guilty! There is no need for it.

I'm afraid that OCD does make you hold onto funny thoughts. It doesn't actually make you have these thoughts, as everyone has really weird, peculiar and often downright unpleasant thoughts. That's perfectly normal. It doesn't mean you really want to do the things that pop into your head, let alone actually do them.

Mostly these thoughts float into your head and then float out as easily as they came in. It's having OCD that makes some of us hold onto them as it they meant anything. And that's how they become toxic and take over our minds, until we can't stop thinking about them.

Treating OCD involves being taught to leave these thoughts alone, just let them be, rather than pushing them away. Left alone they will go of their own accord.

Hey Friend,

The feelings of guilt, for me, are the worse aspect of the intrusive thoughts.

Knowing that these 'scenarios' feel wrong to you shows that morally, your on good ground. You are not your thoughts.
