There is a lot of guilt attached to OCD. It makes you feel guilty for not coping, for putting others to inconvenience and in some cases likes yours, it makes you feel guilty for the intrusive thoughts themselves, as though they are indicative of your personality.

Please be assured that you are a caring and good mother. These thoughts are not what you are. It is just OCD attacking what matters most to you, your boys.

I don't think there is a single case of OCD actually making someone deliberately harm their own kids as a result of intrusive thoughts. On the contrary, people with OCD are safe around children as they will always do what they can to avoid harm.

Try to trust yourself. If getting professional help is difficult, at least get a self help book and try some of the exercises in it. Some have similar cases to yours, so you will know that it is only OCD and not an indication that you are bad.
