Vitamin D for pain management

I remember a lecture at college where our lecturer talked about,' if you have a pain patient, DEFINITELY supplement with vitamin D.' This vital vitamin that actually acts more like a hormone and key chemical messenger in the body can help modulate the pain response. So if you are suffering with pain get your vitamin D levels checked and then supplement accordingly. 2,000 i.u daily for an adult is a great maintenance does however if you are severely depleted in this vitamin you may need to start higher initially to replenish. Alongside this, feel into the emotional dimensions of your pain. Remember your body is a blueprint for your life experience and tuning into its messages it's incredibly important on any healing journey.
