Hi all.The soles of my feet have developed burning sensation at night.Am not sure what could be the cause.Am not currently on any medication
Look up reflex sympathetic dystrophy and see if that will give you the answers you looking for.xx
unfortunately RA can cause all sorts of foot problems, and most of them are remarkably painful. And most of them seem to hurt more when you've been at rest for a while, which seems hugely unfair! Generally my RA is well controlled, but still doesn't stop me waking at night with burning feet. The cause of my foot pain is damage to the joints in my foot, as my feet are my worst bit, and were the first to show signs of RA (RA likes the small joints in feet and hands) but I think you can get similar pains with plantar fasciitis, or bursa underneath the feet. The only thing that seems to help me is paying more attention to calf stretches, as I notice that my feet are worst when I stop doing them, and sticking my feet on a hot water bottle.
NRAS have a section on their website on feet nras.org.uk/foothealth which might help you.
But this may also indicate that your RA is getting active again, so might be worth trying to see a rheumy.

Like Sylvi and Polly I've experienced burning feet like walking on hot coals even when resting and especially bad first thing in the morning. This was also how my RA started alongside painful knees and wrists. It really is a weird disease but I don't have any of these at the moment after 16 months on Methotrexate and Hydroxy - so if you're still to be put on treatment you will hopefully find that this symptom disappears.
