My work is associated with the plastic surgery team in my hospital, and we have a couple of hand specialists who frequently undertake this kind of surgery on people with RA. What I have seen is that they work wonders and change peoples' lives.
Do you know what can be done for tenosynovitis and possible Dupytrens contracture s, they are all over my hands and thumbs causing lots of pain ?
Just a year ago, in early April, I had repair of my right wrist, including 3 seperate surgical procedures, removing bone from two areas and ligament repair. My wrist is now totally functional. A 2 inch portion of the ulnar was removed, so it does look like the "wrist bone" is missing, but who cares. It is now painless and functional. Good luck. Loret xx
