My rheumatologist started me on 15mg MTX to be taken all at once each week. I see some start on lower doses so was just wondering how many started on 15mg or higher.

Hi Treesha, I was on MTX a few yr ago, my consultant started me on 15mg he increased it to 20mg after a couple of month and the side effects settled.

I took them for a few yr before having to stop due to nausea/headaches and adverse effects showing in my bloods.

Hi Treesha. I started on 15 mg MTX in May. This was increased to 20 mg in October because my CRP had been rising for some months. I take them all at once just before I go to sleep and have no side effects at all. And my CRP is now much lower.

Hi Tresha

I also started on 15mg a few years ago. This has now increased to 25 mg by injection as had a few issues with stomach problems on tablets.Very few side effects - just a slightly fuzzy head next day

Mine started me on 7.5mgs a few weeks ago. Don't know if I'll go up or when as I don't see him again until March but so far so good. I think it's probably down to your DAS score or how many joints your RA is in to begin with. Mine is only in my hands and wrists just now and I know it's quite non-aggressive and early so perhaps your's was more advanced and needed hitting with a more aggressive dose straight away? TTx

Yeah I think your right . I could hardly get downstairs or drive because my knees hands and shoulders were so bad. Think we must have started around same time, although mine has been stopped this week due to continuous eye infections. Xx

Hi girls, May I ask: what is DAS score? We use sed rate and crp, never heard of DAS ? Thanks, Loret
