Coughs and Sneezes spread diseases.

Well, the wretched cold which had been hanging around for a week not doing much in particular, finally woke up and got going Wednesday evening. Had a very bad night, unable to breathe through my nose as so bunged up, coughing and sneezing and finally took myself off into the spare room but still couldn't sleep. Reckon I had about 2 hours all told Wednesday night.

Felt better yesterday but had an awful dry cough - what I call my rib rattler - and nothing I took, seemed to soothe it. Had a sleep in the afternoon for an hour with Berry. But had a better night last night and slept through apart from waking up twice. Still a bit bunged up today but feel heaps better than I did. Never had a cold behave like that before.

Berry still being a perfect pain yesterday and had several mad moments when he tore through the house jumping on and off the furniture until I put on my very stern voice (in between coughing) and he then lay down and went to sleep.

Had a glass of champagne last night but it didn't taste right and made me feel a bit sick - don't know why as that is my favourite pick me up if feel low. A friend had given me a small bottle with choccies for my birthday. Choccies long eaten - they don't go with champagne!

Bitterly cold here today with frost on the roofs although the sky is a clear blue without a cloud and the sun is shining. Having to wait in for the carrier to call to collect a large and heavy parcel to go back to the Open University - geological speciments of rocks and minerals and weighs a ton.

Even the aches and pains have settled down so think the MTX on Wednesday helped there. Haven't taken my Enbrel yet - it was due yesterday but felt so ill thought it best to leave it out. Will take it later today.

Had an invite to tea tomorrow with some old friends so will probably go - she knows I have not been well so said she would understand if we couldn't make it but I think I will be ok to go. Just depends on His Lordship now and what he is doing. We are going over to Anmer to help decorate the village hall ready for Xmas and have a Xmas Quiz tomorrow evening as well.

Son's birthday on Tuesday so have got him some smellies. Daughter in law's grandmother is being buried next Friday so we are meeting the children from school and bringing them back to ours. I think they are wise not to have the children at the funeral. = they are really too young and it will upset them as well seeing everyone else upset and crying.

Thought of Sylvi tuesday morning - I had to drive into town to get some things and passed a lady on a mobility scooter trundling down the main road. Unfortunately, her road sense left a lot to be desired and I nearly ran her down when she swerved in front of me! Hope Sylvi doesn't do that! LOL.

Time for another good hacking cough. LavendarLady xx

Oh !!, that brought a smile to my face i can tell you. I try to be a bit more careful than that. I stay on the path as much as possible As the cars go so fast !!!! no pun intended.

Hope your coughing fit is over and your feeling a bit brighter now. Have you triedd boiling lemonade for your throat, and mixing honey with lemon and hot lemonade. Dilute with soluable paracetemol.

I needed to read your blog as i was very tired and down when i got back from the village, ache as well, but 2 painkillers and a laugh at your blog has helped.

Did you know you can score a 100 for running over a scooter!!!!!!! LOL

Hi LL

Sounds as if you are really going through the mill with this cold. Did you have to go to doctors about it?

My hubby found the part of you last blog about yout hubby washing up his breaky things amusing. He said he would of done the same thing lol.

Do you think that infections last longer with ra - due to the type of medication we take?

Hope you start to feel better soon

All the best

Hi all, I really don't believe this cold. Felt fine yesterday but by the evening was coughing and sneezing again which went on all through the night. Still coughing today but not as much. spoke to a couple of friends whilst we were decorating the Hall and they had the same thing - it seems to go away and then comes back with a vengeance.

Had a lovely tea this afternoon with our hunting friends. Hounds got caught up on a deer and the huntsman had a terrible job trying to get them back under control as they charged through people's gardens in pursuit of the deer.

Fortunately, this was in a very tiny village, really little more than a hamlet, where people are used to country things.

HRH Charles and Wessex up here this weekend for shooting and HRH Charles also presented the police with their long service medals up at the Big House - he always insists on opening up Sandringham whilst the Queen, if she is here for the weekend, goes to a farm house she owns in a nearby village. Doesn't quite slum it but doesn't make all the fuss HRH does!

Hope this cold is better tomorrow - bit sick of it now. LavendarLady x
