hi all, does anyone get short of breath sometimes and get pains in the middle of yr back. feels like someone has punched you in the back
Have you thought about fibromyalgia. I get pains in my shoulder blade and i feel like i have ben hit there. Ask your rheumy and see what they think.xx
thanks for your answer. i have no idea what that is and how do they tell if i have got it xx
Is this a new thing? If so, then with anything to do with breathing I'd go see your GP quite quickly as there are some lung complications that can happen with RA that need to be treated to make sure they don't settle in. It could also just be an infection, which might pass off but probably best to see GP anyway. I've had various lung infections that hurt like &@£#%^. Polly
yes i do but i ignore it,,, my rhuemy done an xray on my chest and said im clear of everything
Hi. I have also had this and been checked by my GP and was ok. I have RA but also Asthma so just kind of put it down to one of them lol. It never lasts for more than a day for me so I just take more painkillers! Hope this helps..
Hi Jaqi, I also have this pain in the middle of my back which comes and goes. I had a high white cell count recently and my GP ask me into the surgery to check me over for any signs of infection and he listened to my chest and said it was clear. So some peace of mind, but I am also due to have a chest x-ray so I'm thinking that if there is anything amiss it will show up then or at least put my mind to rest. June x
Hi Jaqi1
I am new to this forum but I am just now having problems with shortness of breath and pain in my back along with a unexplained cough.
I went to my GP and on the 4th Jan and he told me to stop the MTX until they see what is causing this.
The GP sent me straight away for a chest xray then 2 weeks later I got a CT scan and it has shown 2 nodules on my left lung.
The GP does not know if this is caused by an infection or though RA.
I am now waiting for a specialist appointment to come though to further investiage the lung problem.
I also have a Rhuemy appointment next Wed and will see what they say about this.
I think you should get this checked out, I had the shortness of breath for a little while and it was not until I started to get a cough along with it that I got it checked out.
Mary
Hi Jaqi1
As the others have mentioned it would be best to seek medical advice on this, particularly if it is a new symptom.
Kind regards
