you can only get a blue badge if your illness is bad and effects your everyday life, nothing stopping you applying for one, if your in receipt of DLA high rate mobility you can get one, otherwise you have to apply for one through your local council.

Just being diagnosed with RA doesn't make you eligible - its how much disability you have. Also, if you have only just been diagnosed, you may find it hard to get a blue badge because they need to know that your disability is going to last a long time. If you have only just started treatment you could find that you improve dramatically, so you may have to wait 3 to 6 months before you know how you are going to be longer term.

It would make sense to phone up your local council now though, to find out what you would have to do to get a blue badge or other help with transport.
