Hi there. There are lots of "alternative" treatments, ie non-medical ones, that may or may not have a positive effect on RA. As far as I know there's no robust evidence that any of these work reliably. But that doesn't mean that they can't help some people some of the time, so I think it's an individual decision about whether to spend the money on them and try them. I don't know what the KI energy one is, but if it involves taking anything - even herbal supplements - then do be careful about interactions with other medicines you're taking & check with your GP first. Polly
Is it something to do with Kinetics? Not come across it before. I agree with helix - you must check with your GP/consultant to make sure that whatever you are taking doesn't cause problems with your existing meds. A lot of so called herbal remedies can be highly toxic and very dangerous if mixed with Ra drugs.

Ok - that sounds as if it's one of the eastern techniques that helps with relaxation and breathing to rebalance your body. So if you've got energy to spare and it appeals then why not give it a go? Lots of people find Tai chi and things like that v helpful.
because 190.00 per treatment is a bit pricey..im trying to find someone who is a bit cheeper..

Why not try a Yoga class instead?
I just looked Ki Energy up and it looks very much like Reiki. A sort of relaxation therapy. I have learned a lot about relaxation through Yoga and it really helps.

Tai Chi is also promoted by the Arthritis Foundation, as is Massage Therapy, for both Arthrritis and Fibromyalgia. Not toted as a cure for arthritis, so far there is none. But these exercises do relax and stretch the muscles, tendons and ligaments that get so tightened with Arthritisd and Fibro, thus the tightness causes increased pain. Hydrotherapy, if you can get in a heated pool or hottub, then follow with Tai Chi, you can feel terrific if you do this regularly.
Exercise, even mild exercise, is so important.
Without a heated pool, or a hot tub, you can simulate by getting in your bath tub to heat your muscles and then do your Tai Chi or other exercises.
Good luck to all on getting better, or atleast, more comfortable. Loret
I don't think anything actually "cures" RA but various treatments and exercises such as Tai Chai can make it more bearable. Once you've got it, you've got it but it can go into remission. LavendarLady x
