Amgevita - low energy

Hi all,

I've been on Amgevita for just over four weeks, and it's done a decent job of addressing my pain and inflammation. The only thing is, I feel really flat and lethargic. Has anyone found that there's a delay between getting relief from symptoms, and then getting your energy back?

I know that there's a comorbidity with anaemia. I've emailed the hospital today to ask if it might be chronic illness anaemia or due to iron deficiency, just waiting to hear back from them. I'm tempted to just go and get some Feroglobin iron capsules as this fatigue isn't much fun. Appreciate any advice.

I think your GP can order the blood test for anaemia. I was diagnosed with anaemia before RA. I take Floradix. Does the job. It might just be fatigue….but worth checking for sure.

Thanks! I'll give the GP a call tomorrow, see how I go with the blood test. I was erring towards Feroglobin but Floradix sounds a better bet 😊👍

I found the ones gps prescribed way too harsh on my tummy! I used to use the Floradix liquid but the tablets are also fine and easier to transport. I’m also slightly megaloblastic anaemic but B12 levels are very good. Thinking back I had an iron infusion to top me up and then I’ve been fine with tablets every since.

I saw that the Floradix liquid is more rapidly absorbed too, as well as being easier on the stomach 😊

I am on it and feel flat and lethargic too all the time. I stay busy, but its an effort. Much less fatigue 'though

Sorry to hear about the lack of energy. I try my best to stay busy too but some days it just won't happen. Good to know that someone else finds that Floradix works for them 👍

Try vitamine B12. That has helped me a lot.

Will do. What dosage do you take?

I take a daily multivitamin (women 50+) to top everything up and take an additional B12 that really helps. I also take Amitriptyline at 7pm which helps me sleep really soundly.

Many thanks for the advice, sleeping soundly would be a bonus 😊👍

It works a treat. Don’t take it any later than 7pm though.
