I got my anti Tnf approval today! First dose on Thursday delivered to my hosital ward!!!!!
Yippeeee!!!! I've been thinking about you today.
I'm so happy for you, which one will you be taking? just out of interest.
Have you had your pain relief reviewed too, the drug will take a while to work so i hope you have been sorted out today to tide you over.
Really pleased for you Marnie, you deserve it.
Take care
Mand
great news.. thank goodness xx
Congratulation! Keep us updated it will be interesting to see how you get on, I'm being reviewed in November so do keep a running diary so I know what to expect. Well done. Mel
Brilliant news so pleased for you.
Hope like the others said you got new pain meds too.
Which anti tnf have you been given?
I'm on morphine every 2 hours. But it's still really bad could b here a while I think. Starting enbrel
Good glad they got you on some good pain relief. the morphine will help you get through. All you can do is rest at the moment I'm afraid
Are you in hospital then?
Enbrel is good, well they all are. Hope it works out for you, once it starts to work you will be the old you again!
Take care
mand xx
yeh im in hospital waiting to go on the rheumy ward. X
Hi Marnie, It probably doesn't sound right me saying it but I'm glad your in the hospital, it is the best place for you at the moment.
I've been there many times too and when your very poorly like you are at the moment you don't really care, it's only when you begin to feel better you will want to come home.
Make the most of the rest and it is of course the best time to ask any questions, ask about you OT referral and Physio. Although generally this is sorted out for you before you are discharged.
Although your on morphine don't forget the main pain is due to the disease not being under control,so although the morphine will help the sooner you can get onto some proper mediation(which is tomorrow) the better you will start to feel.
Remember though it will take time, the main thing is your getting the care you so desperately need at the moment. There is now way you could have carried on with the pain so bad.
I wish you all the best and hope you start to feel better soon.
Take good care of yourself, the old you will soon be back! and that's what you have to think about. I'm not just saying that I know, I've been there myself, many times.
Speak soon.
Hugs.

Good luck with the Enbrel and with the morphine, can you not ask your GP for the MST Morphine its more of a slow realease one I find it works better and I just top up with Oramorph inbetween when needed, Ive found this the best pain releif so far for me, two hours isnt long when you need sleep!
Take care hope you get good relief and better diease control soon

So pleased for you. Try rest and relax (easier said than done I know when your in so much pain). Hopefully the morphine is kicking in. Was it the pain relief team who decided on enbrel or the rheumy team? Hopefully your GP will take note of what has happened and treat any other people in so much pain appropriately. No one should go through what you have had to. Just hope now you can go onward and upward.
Best regards
Alison-R
Good news, I hope it works for you.
My rheumy consultant came from her hosital to the one I'm in. I was so happy to see her I could of cried! She has decided on enbrel coz if I have a reaction it is quicker than the others to get out of my system x
Hi Marnie, so very pleased at your news after all the problems you have had. Hope they also put you onto other pain meds such as MTX to reduce the inflammation. I am also on Enbrel and have had no problems with it.
Thinking of you. Get plenty of rest. Love LavendarLady x
Just seen the pain team who have given me. New pain drugs.
Can't have mtx I seem to be allergic to it x
Brill news!!
What pain meds have you been given?
I found that getting my pain under better control has been the way forward for me because I find with the pain under better control Im not as fatigued.
Take care

Hi Marnie, I am so pleased for you to be in a safe place with lots of attention (I hope) and that they will at last start to treat the pain and try to get you sorted. I know you probably don't want to be in hospital but make the most of the time there to rest and get some strength back. You must now feel a weight has been lifted and you will now start to move in the right direction. I hope your pain starts to lessen soon and once on your anti-tnf fingers crossed you will start to feel much better.
Thinking of you today, good luck with it all
Love Sue xx
