Live all the days of your life...

Hi de Hi...campers. Bing Bong..

The holiday season is almost upon us. Some say it has already started. You can tell when it does, because the eggs start disappearing from our little shed without being paid for! Now I am not casting aspersions, but it sure does seem like a bit of a co-incidence. Enough of that negativity....

Holidays - yes that rare occasion when one spends hours and hours pawing over brochures trying to find a suitable place to stay, makes a decision, hands over the money and then spends weeks and weeks waiting for the time to come. Only to find it is over and done with in a blink of an eye and within days of returning you find you have almost forgotten you went.

I have a cure... make the most of the days you have now, don't wait for a holiday. Easier said than done I hear you say. Well yes, but no-one said life was going to be easy.... :-)

If there is one thing RA "teaches" me it is to enjoy (or try your goddam hardest) every day you have. Even though the last few days I have been dragging myself around and hurting and aching in various different parts of my body, I have tried to be positive - bit of a cliche - but oh so important.

You know all the old adages, "life is too short" "life isn't a rehearsal" "live for today" blah blah blah... they might be old and like the proverbial dead horse, flogged to death, but all so true.

"You could be run over by a bus tomorrow!" If you can find one around here!

No I reckon I am going to do my darnedest to be cheerful and on the days I can't quite manage it, not be afraid to say so, and allow myself to be angry for a while, get it out of my system and carry on.

Mr Silageman has been so busy trying to make hay. He is in fact making silage today, and picking over the lambs for market, I have hardly seen him. It would have been so easy to feel fed up lonely and left out. But I have tried to keep myself as busy as my body will let me, and do things I haven't had time for before - don't laugh - reading poetry - sorting out my bedroom, stuff like that. Oh and pretending I am rich enough to buy myself a holiday home! Great fun!

I'm off to do some upside-down-diving-from- a-lying-down-position - see photo -like our pussy cat - Misty. Interesting concept!

Tara for now

Hi All

well a virtual holiday it could be done i'll put my thinking cap on to see what we can do. but we won't be doing a 18 - 30s nor a SAGA,I have my reputation as a proffessional Travel consultant to think about, I know I've not been at work since the end of January but I do so want to return to working some day.

Julie, people just go off with out paying for the eggs, i take it you have an honesty box, i'd blame the foreigners but I bet its not, i can't believe the gall of some people.

Misty looks very comfortable Beau our little black and white cat has been rolling around in the front garden and is now not white but a very dirty grey with a few flower petals stuck on her. I've told her she looks silly but she just put her nose in the air and walked off to find mishief in the back garden.

take care all of you and remember PACE yourself.

Hi de hi…

love it :) especially the bing bong, lol.

That's my girl, eat your heart out Pollyanna :) Couldn't agree more Julie!

I actually made it to Hampton Court Flower show yesterday. My Dad is soon to have a hip replacement (poor thing) so we got him a wheelchair & when he wasn't in it I was!! We only covered a small part but we went…it was just lovely. It also made up for the fact that I had to sell my Take That ticket :( not really sure why I ever imagined I'd be able to go, guess I got a tad over excited.

Great pic of Misty. Great blog. Ho de ho :) xx

Hi Julie. Lovely picture of Misty. Must try and get pictures of mine up as well.

Tiasteph, my late father had both hips done and was prancing about like a spring lamb shortly after and had to be physically restrained from climbing a ladder to paint the eaves of the house! When he finally did when we weren't looking, he dropped a paint pot on my husband's head. Glad you enjoyed the flower show. We have the Sandringham Flower Show here on the 27th June which HRH Prince Charles usually attends (as did his late grandmother who was much loved round here). Himself is going but I don't know if I will or not.

MinnieMae my Burmese has not been too well lately - she is a lovely brown tortie with streaks of gold in her coat. She is also a champion having got that some years ago at one of the shows when she also got Best of Breed as well. We were so proud of her. I do worry about her - she is 9 1/2 years old and Burmese can live to a great age. I panic if she is off colour as it would break my heart to lose her. Puppylab (Berry) is chewing everything in sight and older lab (Tilly) just looks on and sighs. As I do when I see the chair leg in the kitchen missing more layers of wood. He's now started on the door mat which looks as if rats have been at it. Sorry to hear you are losing eggs Julie, Not a good thing. Some people wouldn't know honest if it jumped up and bit them on the leg. You could always put up a notice saying thieves will be prosecuted! Or how about locking the shed and putting up a notice saying anyone who wants eggs has to call at the house?

I like the idea of a virtual holiday - no travelling! Why can't we go to club 18-30 - I know I am a bit (well a long way) past that age but it could be fun! Julie, some good books around including poetry. I can recommend Gervase Phinn for a good laugh. I am just finishing his latest book having seen him on stage earlier this year at our Corn Exchange.

Love to everyone - get this party going. LavendarLady
