Hi all....I'm sure many of you have to do injections aswell , as I'm off on holiday soon I was wondering if any of you had tips on how to avoid bruises? I suffer with low platelets aswell which doesnt help but I was wondering if there was any tips you all had? Don't want to be on the beach with thighs full of bruises! Xx

Hi,I've always done injections by a quick jab, doing it this way for me doesn't hurt so much and cuts down on bruising. If your not wearing a bikini (but I'm sure you are!) you could try doing them in the tummy area which is where i do mine, or even altering locations so you don't end up bruised all in one place!

Just a though.

Hope you have a lovely holiday wherever your going, I'm off to Majorca myself in 3 weeks am really looking forward to it as I'm sure you are.

Take care

Mandy xx

I used to get bruises and it was because the injections weren't done quick enough...although I do mine in my tummy because the thought of doing it in my thigh doesn't appeal! Hope you have a lovely hols and find some sunshine ;) Jo x

I always do my injections on the body. MTX on the midriff area which is where the Nurse taught me and Enbrel on the stomach area. Did once try the thigh but so painful, soon stopped that. I also understand you can use the upper arm as well but on the beach in a swim suit, that would probably show. I don 't always get a bruise from the MTX injection only if I have been a bit hamfisted and hurried it. Never had a bruise from the Enbrel medipen injection although tried that on the thigh - ouch - really painful. I think because there is such a large solid muscle on the thigh it is a devil to get the needle in! Have a good holiday. LavendarLady
