try some tramadol or codeine on top of the paracetamol

Distraction techniques like visualisation or listening to music might help a bit as well as codeine or tramadol.

thanks will get some codeine.

I use cocodamol which I think is codeine and paracetomol. The trouble is it makes me very sleepy.

You could try cold packs or heated wheat bags, etc as they can confuse the pain signals.

Hope you are soon feeling better.

just checked my letter and says no nsaids for 48 hours before scan, this could be because i am part of a study that is monitering RA from early diagnosis on. My pain is bad at moment because i am having a flare up at moment which could be from standing out in the pouring rain watching my son play a foot ball match for the last few weeks. If your letter doesnt say stop taking them then dont. took some co-codamol few hours a go and it has taken the edge of,got very earlie appointment in morning then everything can go back to normal(well asnormal as can be lol).

I've had a few ultrasounds and have never been told to hold back on NSAIDs before hand, so could well be Dawn-Angela's trial.
