The filgotinib continues to work its magic and am virtually pain free for first time for over 20 years.
Last weeks blood tests show “mild liver abnormality” for first time, and have to retake next month to see if just a one off.Rheumatologist asked if I had any illness which might explain it,but I don’t think so.I am losing weight the last year but am an erratic eater. I looked up side effects of filgotinib and the liver keeps cropping up.Anyone else on JAK meds had elevated liver enzyme result, and what was solution.Wonder whether I should ask whether to take 100mg instead of 200mg,the higher dose not being recommended for my age of 80.Has anyone else experienced this.I am at Chase Farm Hospital next week for ongoing saga re parathyroid probs, and would leave a letter for rheumatologist there.thanks to all as usual xxJoan p.s.anything about liver is very scary !

Hi I’ve been taking 200mg of Filgotinib for 15 months now and have had no liver problems so far. I take Methotrexate once a week too. Like you it’s been amazing for me. No pain in my feet for the first time in years and improved mobility. I’m 65 years old. I think if I had a blood test blip that repeated on a re-test I’d definitely ask for a conversation about trying the 100mg tablet before having to give up on it. However, I was told initially that if the Filgotinib didn’t work for me there were other JAK alternatives so maybe ask about those too. Good luck.
