In Praise of The Wren Project

Hi there,

I am sure many of you are already aware of the Wren Project but wanted to share in case there are some who are not.

From their website ....

The Wren Project offers listening support to people living with autoimmune diseases throughout the UK. Our aim is to reduce the loneliness, grief and isolation felt by many following a life-changing diagnosis. The support we provide is free, remote and available to anyone over the age of 18.

We recruit and train empathetic volunteers with a desire to support individuals during a difficult time. Thanks to their dedication, we can help navigate the challenges of an autoimmune disease diagnosis.

I was diagnosed 18 months ago and currently have not yet found working drugs or got the condition fully under control. I have just finished a second round of sessions with a volunteer from Wren and found it to be invaluable.

If you are newly diagnosed, struggling with flares or need for new meds, or simply need someone to talk to about your condition I can't recommend them enough. ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you for sharing this. I haven't heard of them before but have just signed up to be a regular donor. Such a great cause and very much needed.

Me too 😊 I am on my second session and I can’t tell you what a relief it’s been to talk to someone. I am 2.5 yrs in and still trying to find ‘the one’ second round of Rituximab this week so here’s hoping 🤞 Don’t hesitate to apply & it is free 😊
