painful heavy legs …. This has helped me!

I have RA, I also had a DVT 8 years ago following surgery. I have a job which keeps me on my feet all day and I’m in my mid 50s. I had started to get very heavy aching legs. Compression socks helped, but on a whim I bought an electronic circulation booster (the type of thing advertised on TV by a well known former cricketer, although I bought a less expensive version). The technology is the same as TENS pain relief. Well! What a difference this has made! I keep it under the sofa plugged in and sit down with a cup of tea for a half hour session when I get home or if I watch TV later. They are not suitable for anyone with pacemakers, and it’s an odd sensation as you feel your leg muscles pulse, but I would highly recommend for anyone with leg issues. My husband laughed when I bought it, but now he’s using it several times a week too! Just wanted to share in case it helps anyone else. Mine cost £99

Thank you for such a helpful tip. My legs have been horribly swollen recently but in my case it was blood pressure tablets. Amlodipine made my feet and ankles swell and lercanidipine swelled the feet, ankles and halfway to my knees. I might try one of those machines if the swelling doesn't go pdq.

My husband has blood pressure tablets and occasional swollen ankles, and it definitely helps him

That sounds useful! I think my neighbour has one I might borrow .

I was also thinking of trying a tens machine for my spine.

Thankyou for sharing I have swelling around my ankles and lower legs with cramps in the night, very painful knees also, I have looked at those machines and wondered if it was worth trying. Going to get one now and try.
