Thank you for all your replies and support. Just rtn from weekend away with sons to my letter. Now in complete panic as rtn address is DWP CFCD SOC AND ECG6. Which ive goggled and its fraud dept. What hav i done wrong so scared.Please advise

Call them tomorrow and ask if this is correct. If it’s a letter what is it asking you to send them? I got a text about mine not a letter.

I’d still call them, maybe it’s just the department that needs those documents rather than the one where you send your forms. Checking you are who you say you are etc, don’t be scared I’m sure there’s a simple explanation 😊

This does sound strange especially if you are already receiving benefits, plus . Its a bit dodgy sending personal medical reports ,passports, and hospital letters via post . Recall in time gone by having to produce a marriage certificate to prove I was my husbands widow, but I was allowed to take it to the local office and they sent it by fax. I would ring them first it may just be that office trying to prove your ID, no one else would have proof of your true ID one would presume or medical details. Oh and if you claim rate rebates they often ask for passport ID to prove you are not an illegal immigrant. Its very upsetting at the time.

Hi i only get Pip and never had to go though this before makes me feel ive done something wrong. Last time i sent things in they lost it all

Did you call them Ninnin? I’m sure they do random checks on people to try and catch fraudsters, try not to worry about it.

I really think there's a very good chance that Kitty is absolutely right in that it's most likely about checking your identity Ninnin. From the title of your post, it looks as though you're undergoing a review of PIP at present. The DWP have to be very diligent about checking and confirming identity these days, so this explanation sounds very logical and likely.

Please try not to panic. As Kitty advises, the best thing to do is phone and clarify the situation if you are worried. If you are worried about sending documents and them being lost, ask if you can send photocopies.

Hi well.i rang today, spoke to lovely lady who was as much in dark as i was . No evidence on my record to show they suspected fraud or that im being watched ....that hadnt even entered my mind.Had no idea why passport required advised to to send in but to go to jobcentre and get verified. Told not to worry but i still am.

Hi there again, it is not unusual for documents to be lost even though they are just a department that puts it on to your computer file, as in ticking a box that says they have been seen and returning to sender. But they deal with thousands in a day. I recall some years ago, someone pressing a button and deleting my benefit. I rang up and when I told them I had spoken to a male with irish accent she said there was no one in there office of that discription but my money was reinstated immediately. So hopefully you will get everything sorted as soon as possible. Oh its the same in other government offices who deal with persons finances . It took me three years to sort one problem out as a repeated sum kept showing on the computer that was incorrect.

Kitty is saying how it is, all government departments do audits, on both claimants and themselves. It checks systems and the requests are completely randomly generated. I’m sure if you contact them they can reassure you. Try not to worry xx

What are you talking about. This is aggressively tiresome your advice is just wrong. If the request is from the Fraud division and I don’t know it is then to not comply means either it will be suspended and/or terminated. To say you don’t need too is taken as things will continue and they may not. So you’re potentially misleading and may well mean that the poster will incur a lot more problems. Do read what you’ve written because a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing. I’m very angry, your being so abusive and because some of us are more considered , experienced and indeed qualified and see a bigger picture you are saying we are all wrong. We are not wrong simply giving our opinion and it’s up to the OP to do as they want to after reading the views she asked for. I’m not getting into a dispute and off to a restaurant. It’s just putting as much information into the discussion as can be useful. So if the OP follows your advice and is sanctioned then I’m sorry but tried to help.

I’ve just seen this and just to make it absolutely clear, I never mentioned fraud you did, I responded as your very good at giving advice without any insight into how things actually work. READ my first comment. Furthermore you don’t seem to understand if someone has nothing to hide then they can’t incrimate themselves as done nothing wrong. So stop making assumptions and read again, engage brain and think about what you’re actually saying. Your comment involving 3 amigoes is insulting, rude and frankly nasty. I’ve no idea why you felt the need to make it but in future would ask that you don’t my posts are made simply to try to help. I’m at a loss, I thought I was trying to help and be objective and then got abused. I’m so sorry you got dragged in. I’m not sure it’s worth trying to be helpful anymore and I read the last post as though I was abusive or bullying them. I’m so angry as that wasn’t or has ever been true.
