I wonder if the leflunimide could be taken with a biologic rather than the celebrex. I wonder why you have the blood clots. I hope your doctor is alarmed and you are getting the best of care.

it is unlikely to be due to your leflunomide, as it normally lowers platelets, which can result in excessive bleeding, and lack of ability to clot. These clots are known as pulmonary embolisms and often start of as DVT, where you may have had painful calf’s often swollen. They are also common when mobility is greatly reduced. However the celebrex which is an nsaid is also known to increase the risk of clots. It is highly likely you’ll be told to avoid NSAIDs from now on. I had a stroke 5.5yr ago and took a regular nsaid for my AS, and it was stopped. I’m allowed an occasional brufen, but no regular nsaid. The thinners will dissolve the clots and the breathlessness should subside. I only took a regular nsaid for 18 month but it was attributed to my stroke, although the main cause was undiagnosed adrenal insufficiency, which had caused an adrenal crisis. Hopefully you recover soon. 🤗

I had PE’s and dvt (unprovoked )years before LEF and was told it a hidden risk of RA. It takes time to breathe better and months to get really well after pe’s. It’s a no to NSAIDs and aspirin and I’m lifelong Riveroxaban.
