I have recently developed a large area of dark pigmentation along my spine, which seems to branch out in large patches (really looks like mini wings 😂😂) my hubby says it feels different to my other skin and took some photos for me to see.
Has anyone else had this? I do have Vitiligo but that is mostly white blobs.
I’m on 15mg of methotrexate injected and 400mg hydroxy, which I started one month ago.

Tough! It’s their job and if it wasn’t you it would be someone else’s problems. It’s not as if you want to have a problem. A photo and a description of how it feels will let them see what you mean and they can go from there.
Have you had a vaccination lately. I had a similar sounding rash about three months after an Influenza vaccination….it turned out to be a post viral rash- caused by the jab,& every year now I get a “shadow” rash where the original was.
I’m seeing my GP about 1.5 times a week atm. They say ‘you have got a lot going on at the moment’ in a kind way. If it helps they get extra funding for RA patients. 🙄
Don't worry about asking for an appointment. I had 3 months where I was having to call them practically very week for one thing or another! I felt the same that I was 'bothering them' but they were all legit reasons. A nurse once told me if a problem continues or new ones occur the only way to get it sorted is to talk to a GP or a rheumatologist. They know how RA and meds can throw up differing/worsening problems. I still always say I'm so sorry I'm back again and they say that's what we're here for.
I also have vitiligo, and have experienced darkened pigmentation on both lower legs below my calves!
I developed R.A last year and have been on Methotrexate and Hydroxychloroquine since last September. I've also been on Adalimumab (Amgevita) since March, but didn't notice the darkened areas until I started to tan, probably around May time.
The skin's texture, however, is the same as everywhere else.
I may try and get in touch with the dermatologist that diagnosed Vitiligo to see if it could be related. I was a bit worried as it seems to branch out from my spine. I have quite a few issues with my spine so it worried me. Nice to hear from a fellow vitiligo sufferer. Mine started just over a year ago. Xxx
I'd definitely get it checked out if it's causing you any concern. It's bad enough having R.A without having any additional worries. My vitiligo started when I was 12 and used to bother me, but not any more. These days, looking and being different is being openly celebrated, so I think it looks pretty cool 😊 xxx
